The Ketu North Directorate of the National Health Insurance Authority, NHIA, will tomorrow, Friday July 31, 2026, embark on a national sanitation exercise at its new office complex in the Ketu North Municipal Assembly.
The exercise forms part of the Nationwide NHIA Wellness and Clean-Up Exercise and will take place at the premises of the new NHIA office, located near the Ketu North Municipal Assembly.
According to the official notice, the program will begin with a wellness session of mild exercise or aerobics from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., followed by the clean-up exercise from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
The new edifice, which is yet to be officially commissioned, is expected to serve as the permanent headquarters for NHIA operations in the municipality.
Speaking ahead of the exercise, the Manager of the Ketu North Directorate, Mr. Ignatius Quophy Amaglo, said the initiative forms part of efforts to ensure a clean and healthy environment before the facility is opened to the public.
He noted that the exercise is also in direct response to President John Dramani Mahama’s call for all institutions to prioritize sanitation and public health across the country.
“We the NHIA workers in the Ketu North Municipal are taking this opportunity to sanitize our new office and the environment to make it very neat and beautiful,” Mr. Amaglo stated. “As a health institution, we must lead by example by keeping our surroundings clean and safe for both staff and clients.”
The office further noted that the activity is aimed at promoting staff wellness, environmental cleanliness, and a healthy workplace culture, and creating a clean and welcoming environment.
Mr. Amaglo called on staff of the directorate, market women, and residents living around the new office site to support the team and help make the environment more presentable.
He added that the directorate will continue to collaborate with the Ketu North Municipal Assembly and other stakeholders to sustain clean-up activities in line with national sanitation policies.
The directorate anticipates that the new office, once opened, will improve access to NHIA services for residents in Ketu North and surrounding communities.
