Learning just got a little easier for 22 pupils at Weta E.P. Basic School after the Ewe Loyalty Foundation stepped in with a donation of brand new school uniforms.
The gesture, made on Tuesday, July 21, is part of the Foundation’s push to reduce dropout rates and take some financial pressure off parents in Ketu North Municipality.
Representatives of ELF, led by General Secretary Mr. Eric Shine Ekow Setor, presented the items to the school. Headmaster Mr. Martin Kwawu received them on behalf of the pupils.
Also present was the Unit Committee Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel, who stood in for the Weta Electoral Area Assembly Member, Hon. Enoch K. Amedegbe.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Setor said ELF was founded to give vulnerable people across the Volta Region a fair shot at life.
“Our goal is simple: to bring hope, restore dignity, and create opportunities where they are needed most,” he said. “Education is one of the surest ways to do that.”
He outlined that the Foundation supports schools, orphanages, hospitals and prisons, and also promotes volunteerism and community unity.
According to him, the uniform drive in Weta wraps up phase one of the campaign. Phase two kicks off in September and will cover Hohoe, Ho, Weta R.C., Kpando, with a final stop in Shime in the Anloga District.
Mr. Setor called on businesses, philanthropists and individuals to partner with ELF to reach more communities.
Mr. Kwawu thanked the Foundation, calling the donation “timely and impactful” for families struggling with school costs. He urged other groups to follow ELF’s example.
Hon. Amedegbe, speaking through his representative, praised the Foundation’s consistent work with children in the area and said the community values the partnership.
Some of the pupils who received uniforms said the support made them feel proud and motivated to attend school regularly.
