Fire Leaves 22 Apprentices Stranded In Dzodze As Shop Is Razed, NADMO Reports GH¢70,000 Loss

Twenty-two apprentices have been left stranded after a fire destroyed a seamstress shop at Dzodze Ablome (Alagbavi) in the Ketu North Municipality.

According to a situational report from Ketu North NADMO, the incident occurred on Sunday, 26th April 2026 around 10:30am.

The shop, owned by Madam Vivian Sedzro, 38, was completely razed by the fire.

NADMO stated that items destroyed in the fire included 32 sewing machines, one knitting machine, one buttonholes machine, assorted clothing and 50 half pieces of cloth.

No casualty was recorded. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The extent of damage has been classified as “Total” with an estimated loss of GH¢70,000.

In its recommendations, the Ketu North NADMO office is appealing to the Ketu North Municipal Assembly and the Volta Regional NADMO Directorate to come to the aid of the victim by providing relief and reconstruction items to help her get back on her feet.
