Anloga DCE Welcomes Fisheries Minister, Appeals for Renovation of Woe Mini Inland Harbour

ANLOGA, May 7, 2026 — Anloga District Chief Executive Hon. Sandra Seyram Kpedor has hosted the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Madam Emelia Arthur, on a working visit to the Anloga District.

During the visit, the Minister toured the Woe mini inland harbour and the Anloga landing site, where she inspected existing facilities and engaged directly with fisherfolk on their challenges and needs.

Both facilities play a vital role in the local economy of the Anloga District. They support fishing activities, create employment opportunities, and contribute significantly to income generation and food supply for residents and surrounding communities.

Taking advantage of the visit, Hon. Kpedor appealed to the Minister to facilitate the renovation of the Woe mini inland harbour, which was constructed in 1998 and is now in need of upgrading to meet current demands.

The DCE emphasized that modernizing the harbour would improve safety, boost productivity, and strengthen the livelihoods of the many fisherfolk who depend on it.
